McNeill's "The History & Character of Calvinism" is its reckoning of contemporary problems.

The book's Part IV - "Calvinism and Modern Issues" - should not be missed. McNeill's work contains a Calvinist condemnation of South African apartheid that was ahead of its time. The book was published the same  › Books › Literature & Fiction › History & Criticism.

The emphasis and glory of the book may be found in his account of Zwingli and Calvin and their era. The heirs of Calvin are mentioned, but not explored in depth.
